Sewing Machines, Dunkin Donuts, Daddy-Daughter dates and The Kingdom

I love Dunkin Donuts! Always have. Even way back in the 70’s when my Grandmother would take me to sit at the doughnut bar on Manchester Expressway in Columbus, GA and have a couple of sprinkle donuts while she had a cup of coffee. I wonder if it’s still there?? Well, last Saturday July 28th it stepped up to new heights in my recollection and sealed itself as a place NEVER EVER to be forgotten. You see, on a daddy daughter date that day at a brand spanking new DD in Gainesville, GA  my 10 year old daughter Isabel prayed and professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. I was privileged to the experience of a life time! I was one-on-one with my daughter as she confessed her need for Jesus and acknowledged Him as Savior to her Father in Heaven… with her father on earth in attendance!

We weren’t even supposed to be able to be there that day. We were scheduled to be on a mission trip in Tennessee with some out-of-this-world great friends of ours. However, the week prior our mission cash was cut short by my wife’s broken sewing serger. Crazy, but we had plenty of time to have it fixed…if only the part she ordered was actually in stock and actually came in on time. But it didn’t…no mission cash meant no mission trip. No “kingdom servitude” for us that weekend. Or so we thought.

Had that machine been working, we’d have been on that trip. Had we been on that trip, what are the chances that I would have gotten to spend that precious time with Isabel and actually be present to see her step into the kingdom??? And as the weekend ended, that wiser than I give her credit for 10 yr old asked me the same thing….

Dunkin' Donuts

Encouraged and empowered

Well, by the looks of the dates on the screen its been over 3 years since I’ve been here. My good buddy and mentor Robert Mallon suggested today that I might want to dust this bad boy off and get back to jotting my thoughts and experiences Outside the 4. So….let’s do it. Yeah, there is a story to tell after my Daddy/Daughter date with Isabel over the weekend that kick started this. I’ll be telling you about it after I update this joint. Stay tuned its a GOOD ONE!

Same as it ever was…

Bigger. Better. Faster.

With so little time to blog. I’ve resorted to something much more entertaining and a quicker release for me. Not that I think “its all about me,” but this time its all about me. For whats going on inside and out, take a look to the right>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

unCommonly trUstworthy

unCommon Vision because of an unCommon God + unCommon Attitude because of an unCommon savior = unCommon & Supernatural results

How big is your God? How much do you trust Him?

Giving thanks…

to God above for my wife, Laura. She is so full of wisdom, heart and courage. Watching her chase after the heart of God is inspiration  like no other. No one I know seeks to please him and know his purpose more. Loving and living with me can be such a challenge. I know that it’s only by his mercy and grace that she’s allowed to shine so brightly in my life.

I love you, Lulabelle.

Thank you, Jesus!

from the book of Numbers 11

Relevancy at it’s finest from The Old Testament:

4 The rabble with them began to crave other food, and again the Israelites started wailing and said, “If only we had meat to eat! 5 We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost—also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.6 But now we have lost our appetite; we never see anything but this manna!”

If only I had this. If only I had one more of that.  Could be wrong but these Isrealites are sounding so…uh…American.

Only by the grace of God go I and it is sufficient.

A weekend of Beautiful Reminders

“Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” -Matthew 28

1.Don’t be afraid….fear hath no hold.

2. He is not here ….in the tomb.

3. He has risen….defeated death.

4. Just as he said…..a man of his word!

Oh, Praise The One who paid my debt and raised “this” life up from the dead!

No room left!!!

Jesus says in Matthew 12….

“When a defiling evil spirit is expelled from someone, it drifts along through the desert looking for an oasis, some unsuspecting soul it can bedevil. When it doesn’t find anyone, 44 it says, ‘I’ll go back to my old haunt.’ On return it finds the person spotlessly clean, but vacant.45 It then runs out and rounds up seven other spirits more evil than itself and they all move in, whooping it up. That person ends up far worse off than if he’d never gotten cleaned up in the first place.“That’s what this generation is like: You may think you have cleaned out the junk from your lives and gotten ready for God, but you weren’t hospitable to my kingdom message, and now all the devils are moving back in.”

Wondering today how “hospitable” I’ve been to His kingdom message or am I still convinced I know how it all should go. How many rooms in this “hotel heart” of mine am I leaving vacant for an old life to move back  in?

Jesus forgive me. Help me to forgive others. Please consume me! Fill my heart with your presence!  Leave no room for a return of anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy, deceit, doubt, confusion, maliciousness or perversion of mind, body or soul! Amen.

K.I.S.S.

If  I simply am who I say I am in Christ and simply believe what I claim to believe, then I would simply put my faith and trust in Him whom I simply say saved me and gives me life.
